Israel isolates second suspected Ebola patient returning from Congo
The Israeli Ministry of Health announced a second suspected case of Ebola. The patient, who returned from the Democratic Republic of Congo two days earlier, developed fever, headache and diarrhea and was admitted to the Shiba Tel Hashomer Medical Center under strict isolation. Laboratory tests are underway with results expected in the coming days.
The first suspected case was identified earlier at Rambam Hospital in Haifa. Health officials have launched a full epidemiological investigation to trace contacts and have reminded the public to avoid non‑essential travel to the DRC, Uganda and other affected areas. Five hospitals have been designated for Ebola isolation and have received protective equipment and specialized training.
