Kumamoto 2026 earthquake relief expands with Shiga staff deployment and Mashiki town notices

Following the Reiwa 8 (2026) Kumamoto earthquake, Mashiki town issued a series of public notices between July 30 and August 4, covering the issuance of disaster‑damage certificates for homes and other properties, emergency water supply, waste disposal, and the status of municipal facilities such as schools and water centers.

Separately, Shiga Prefecture announced that it will dispatch officials to Kumamoto’s Udo City and the Yatsushiro health‑office jurisdiction to assist with the issuance of disaster‑damage certificates and related support tasks. The deployment is part of a broader inter‑prefectural effort to aid the affected region.

Both actions illustrate coordinated local and regional responses to the earthquake’s aftermath.
