Israeli military operations continue to escalate in southern Lebanon and southern Syria despite previous ceasefire efforts. In Lebanon, the military has conducted airstrikes, artillery shelling, and ground incursions across several districts, including Bint Jbeil, Tyre, and Nabatieh. A recent raid in Arab Salim resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to six others.

Lebanese officials have accused Israel of a “scorched-earth policy” and “ecocide,” alleging that military activity, including the use of incendiary munitions and drones, has systematically burned vast areas of forests, olive groves, and farmland. The National Council for Scientific Research reports that 160 square kilometers of land have been affected by fires since October 2023.

In Syria, Israeli forces have carried out artillery attacks and ground raids in the western Damascus countryside and the Quneitra countryside. Meanwhile, the US Ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Issa, indicated that Washington has not reached an agreement with Israel to halt attacks, noting that the disarmament of Hezbollah remains a central issue in the ongoing dispute.
