Israel orders evacuation of Lebanese town and strikes Hezbollah targets in south Lebanon

Israeli forces dropped leaflets over the town of Mansour in southern Lebanon, ordering residents to leave – the first such evacuation directive since the Israel‑Hezbollah ceasefire took effect.

A day after Israel and Lebanon signed a U.S.-mediated security agreement, an Israeli drone hit the Nabatieh area, destroying a rocket launcher and killing Hezbollah fighters armed with rocket‑propelled grenades. The Israeli military also reported killing armed militants in the “security zone” of southern Syria.

Lebanese authorities responded with a prosecutor’s order for security agencies to crack down on protests against the agreement, while Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and UAE officials expressed support for Lebanon’s position. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the agreement as a blow to Iran and Hezbollah.
