Israel strikes Beirut suburb; Hezbollah hits Israeli sites with drones
On June 14, 2026 the Israeli air force bombed the Dahieh neighborhood of southern Beirut, saying it targeted Hezbollah infrastructure and breaching the cease‑fire. Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Katz, described the strike as a response to recent Hezbollah fire.
Hezbollah later launched a series of unmanned‑aircraft attacks on Israeli positions in southern Lebanon, striking locations such as Majdal Selim, Handa, Jezzine, Nabatieh and Tyre. Israel also carried out further air raids on southern Lebanese towns and ordered the evacuation of 29 villages north of the Zahrani River.
Both sides exchanged statements accusing the other of aggression and warned that further strikes could follow.
