Israel threatens massive retaliation against Iran's infrastructure
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz have issued strong warnings regarding the Iranian regime. Netanyahu stated that the regime is currently unstable and fighting for survival, asserting that overthrowing the government is an achievable goal for Israel.
Defense Minister Katz warned that any Iranian attack on Israel would remove all existing restraints on Israeli military action. He threatened to strike Iran’s entire national military, civilian, and energy infrastructure, stating such a response would return the country ‘deep into the Stone Age and darkness.’ Katz also noted that severe economic pressure and the threat of domestic unrest could drive the Iranian leadership toward desperate measures.
In a separate development, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the completion of an operation at the Ali al-Taher Ridge in southeastern Lebanon. The mission involved clearing Hezbollah command-and-control tunnels used to direct attacks against Israeli troops and the Galilee region. Katz emphasized that Israel will not withdraw from the security zone in southern Lebanon until Hezbollah is fully disarmed.
