Israel transports Gaza rubble, threatening evidence of alleged war crimes

The Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights warned that Israel is conducting a systematic operation to remove and transport rubble from Gaza. About 400 civil‑company‑operated machines are used to crush and load debris, and up to 100 trucks a day are moving at least 10 million tonnes of material out of areas under Israeli military control. The trucks are sent to undisclosed locations inside Israel and the southern West Bank, with no independent monitoring or public accounting of quantities or destinations.

The Observatory says the activity is not part of humanitarian rescue or reconstruction but aims to erase physical evidence of alleged genocide and impede forensic investigations. It has called on the International Criminal Court prosecutor to investigate the practice and urged the international community to halt the rubble removal to preserve evidence and allow independent investigators access to the sites.
