Israel warns of powerful response and energy sector strikes against Iran

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has issued a renewed warning to Tehran, stating that any attack against Israel, regardless of its origin or motive, will be met with a powerful and severe response. In a video message released during the Jewish New Year, Katz specifically threatened to target Iran's critical energy infrastructure, arguing that these facilities provide the resources necessary to sustain Iran's military and proxy operations.

Katz suggested that the intense economic pressure currently facing the Iranian leadership might drive the regime toward desperate or extreme actions. He warned that an Israeli retaliation could cause damage unprecedented in scale, potentially setting the country back decades and further destabilizing the current government. He emphasized that the Israeli military remains in a state of full readiness to execute such missions under the direction of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Separately, reports citing unnamed US officials have indicated that Iran may be planning a major attack due to the mounting regional and economic pressures. While Iran maintains that its nuclear and missile programs are peaceful, Israeli officials continue to view these developments as a direct threat to regional security.
