Israeli strikes in Gaza kill five Palestinians, including two children

Israeli military operations across the Gaza Strip have killed at least five Palestinians, including two children, in the past 24 hours, despite an October 2025 ceasefire.

In Gaza City, an Israeli drone strike on a civilian vehicle killed Youssef Akila and his nine-year-old daughter, Wafaa. The Israeli military stated the target was a Hamas militant. In central Gaza, Israeli artillery struck the Sakina School in Deir al-Balah, which was serving as a shelter for displaced families, killing a seven-year-old student.

Other reported incidents include strikes in the Tuffah neighborhood and the Shati refugee camp. Additionally, nine Palestinians were injured in Gaza City after being hit by debris from an Israeli interceptor missile that was mistakenly launched against a target later identified as IDF fire.

Hamas has accused Israel of violating the ceasefire and undermining peace efforts. Since the truce began in October 2025, health officials report that over 1,300 Palestinians have been killed and more than 4,400 wounded. The Israeli military has reported that four of its soldiers have been killed during this period.
