Israeli airstrike injures ten hospital staff in Tyre, Lebanon

Ten members of the nursing and administrative staff at the Hiram Hospital in Tyre, Lebanon, were wounded when an Israeli airstrike hit a zone about 15 metres from the facility. The blast shattered windows and damaged staff vehicles.

The strike comes as Israel continues its campaign against Hezbollah forces after the war began on 2 March. According to hospital director Dr. Salman Aintibi, this is the sixth time the hospital perimeter has been targeted. Earlier incidents include a May 31 attack that injured 13 staff members, and a subsequent bombing near the Jabal Amel hospital that killed four civilians and wounded 127 people, including 39 hospital workers. A third hospital in Tyre suffered damage from Israeli strikes in early April. In total, 17 hospitals have been hit and three have been forced to close, while Israeli forces have warned residents to evacuate the city and surrounding areas.
