Israeli airstrike kills Palestinian groom on his wedding day in Gaza

A 25‑year‑old Palestinian man, Mehend Osman Furane (also reported as Muhenned Fervane), was killed by an Israeli strike in the town of Han Yunus in the southern Gaza Strip as he prepared for his wedding ceremony. The attack, carried out despite a declared cease‑fire, involved aerial bombardment that also wounded numerous civilians and was followed by additional artillery and drone strikes across Gaza, including in the Bureyc refugee camp and surrounding neighborhoods.

Family members described the loss as tragic, with the groom’s mother saying, “My son was preparing for his wedding, now he is dead,” and recalling the groom’s preparations for a new life that were abruptly ended by the strike.
