Gaza: Israeli strikes kill at least eight, including children

Recent Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip have resulted in significant casualties, including several children. Within a 24-hour period, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported at least eight deaths and 31 injuries in various locations, including the Jabalia refugee camp in the north.

In Gaza City, a drone-led offensive in the al-Kateeba district caused multiple fatalities. Simultaneously, reports from medical personnel indicate that at least three children were killed in separate strikes. In Deir el-Balah, an additional death was reported following an incident where Israeli forces reportedly opened fire in an area where no active combat was taking place.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that these operations are intended to eliminate threats to their personnel. Despite a standing ceasefire agreement, local authorities note that violence persists, with over 1,300 Palestinians killed since the truce was established. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reports that the total death toll since the start of the conflict in October 2023 has reached 73,470.
