Israeli airstrikes kill at least 10 civilians in Gaza City

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza City killed at least nine to ten Palestinians, including two women and two children, according to Shifa Hospital and Saraya Field Hospital. The victims were hit in at least four separate strikes that created large holes in residential apartments and scattered belongings on the streets.

The strikes occurred despite a fragile cease‑fire that was meant to pause the two‑year conflict between Israel and Hamas. Israeli officials said the overnight attacks targeted senior Hamas militants, but hospitals and local witnesses reported civilian casualties and described the ongoing night‑by‑night killing. The Gaza Health Ministry says more than 936 Palestinians have been killed since the cease‑fire began, while four Israeli soldiers have died in Gaza.

Relatives expressed grief, with Walid Shbeir, uncle of one of the dead, stating, “They say the war has stopped, but the war has not stopped.” The incident underscores the continued volatility in the enclave despite reduced large‑scale fighting.
