Gaza bombardments kill 11, including family of five, despite cease‑fire

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza city on Saturday hit a residential apartment in the north‑west of the city, killing five members of a family – a couple and their three children – while a fourth child survived outside the building. Gaza’s Civil Defence and Al‑Shifa Hospital confirmed the deaths. Separate strikes killed three civilians in the Zeitoun neighbourhood, a woman in the same area, and two other civilians in different parts of the territory, bringing the death toll to 11.

The Israeli military said the attacks targeted a Hamas terrorist, but the strikes occurred despite the cease‑fire that began in October 2025. Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that at least 1,144 Palestinians have been killed since the cease‑fire, while Israel reports five of its soldiers and one defence‑contractor killed in the enclave.

The incidents underscore the ongoing violation of the truce and the continued humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
