Israeli airstrikes kill five in southern Lebanon

On Saturday, 13 June 2026, Israeli air raids over southern Lebanon resulted in five fatalities and multiple injuries. The attacks targeted a series of villages, including Kfar Rumman, Deir al‑Zahrani, Al‑Rihan, Sajd, Kfar Huna and others, amounting to 17 separate strikes across the districts of Jezzine, Saida, and Nabatieh.

Hezbollah reported that its fighters engaged Israeli forces attempting to move toward border villages, while the Lebanese army confirmed the deaths of a local mukhtar and a civilian electricity worker, and the wounding of several residents. The intensified bombardment follows ongoing border confrontations between Israel and Hezbollah.

The incident adds to the recent escalation of hostilities along the Lebanese‑Israeli frontier, raising concerns over further civilian casualties and regional stability.
