Israeli Ambassador Noam Katz says Greece solidifies trilateral ties with Israel and Cyprus

At the Energy Corridors Summit 2026 in Athens, Israeli ambassador Noam Katz highlighted Greece’s role as a pillar of regional stability and an energy hub linking the eastern Mediterranean to Europe. He described the Greece‑Israel‑Cyprus partnership as built on “stable foundations” and outlined a new multi‑year action plan with nine focus areas, including energy, technology, crisis management, research, innovation and joint infrastructure.

Working groups have been established to deliver measurable results, with joint R&D projects already underway and plans for coordinated action on marine pollution. Katz also stressed the importance of the India‑Middle East‑Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) for diversified supply routes.

Katz called Greece an “energy hub” for Europe, citing strong electricity interconnections, renewable‑energy capacity and opportunities for large‑scale investments such as data centres and LNG infrastructure. He concluded by saying he returns to Israel as a “real friend of Greece” and expressed confidence that his successor will continue the cooperation.
