Iran missiles intercepted over Jordan's Aqaba; Israel activates Iron Dome

Iran launched a series of ballistic missiles and drones targeting Jordan’s southern port city of Aqaba, aiming at the international airport and the harbor. Jordanian air defenses reported intercepting three to five missiles, while the United States embassy initially issued an evacuation alert that the Jordanian government later denied. Sirens sounded across Jordan as the threat was assessed.

Israel’s military activated the Iron Dome system for the first time since the April cease‑fire to intercept missile fragments that could fall on the nearby Israeli city of Eilat. Israeli sources said no casualties or damage were reported on either side. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed the attacks were retaliation for recent U.S. strikes in the region. The incidents have heightened regional tension but, so far, have caused no reported injuries or significant infrastructure loss.
