Israeli Army Plans Major Anti‑Terror Operation in West Bank

The Israeli Defense Forces announced on Friday that they are preparing a major anti‑terror operation in the occupied West Bank. The move follows violent clashes in the Tal area near Nablus that left one Israeli civilian dead and four Palestinians killed, with several others wounded.

According to witnesses, a group of 25‑30 Israeli settlers first attacked the eastern part of Tal, after which Israeli troops entered the area, cancelling weekend leave for soldiers stationed in the West Bank and reinforcing their numbers. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called an emergency cabinet meeting to discuss the response.

The IDF also reported that a Palestinian had stolen a weapon from local security personnel and shot at Israeli civilians during the incident. Both Israeli and Palestinian officials have provided differing accounts of the attacks, but the army confirmed its readiness for an expanded operational campaign in the sector.
