Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz says Israel prepping attacks on Iran
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz told host Dr. Gadi Taub that, together with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he has instructed the Israeli army to prepare independent attacks against Iran. Katz said Iran has not yet decided to restart rebuilding the nuclear facilities hit in earlier strikes.
Katz also outlined Israel’s ongoing operations in southern Lebanon, claiming the demolition of dozens of villages and between 15,000 and 20,000 homes. He said roughly 200,000 residents of the area will not be able to return for a long time and that Israel will apply a "Refah model" there, similar to actions in Gaza’s Rafah town.
Regarding Gaza, Katz asserted that Israeli forces remain in the heart of the enclave, that the area under Israeli control now exceeds 60 % of Gaza, and that the presence will continue as part of Israel’s national security policy. He described the destruction in Rafah as total, noting that displaced residents are forced into tunnels and that the same tactics will be used elsewhere, such as Beit Hanun and Han Yunus.
Overall, Katz presented the preparations against Iran and the expanded footprint in Lebanon and Gaza as coordinated components of Israel’s security strategy.
