Israel's Yisrael Katz Plans Iran Attack, Expands Lebanon‑Gaza Ops

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have ordered the Israeli army to prepare independent attacks on Iran, though Tehran has not yet resumed rebuilding the nuclear facilities hit in earlier strikes. Katz noted that a decision from Iran would be required before any new operations could begin.

Katz also described the ongoing campaign in southern Lebanon, saying roughly 200,000 residents have been displaced and that the Israeli army has razed large numbers of homes – “about 90 % of the houses are gone, with 15,000‑20,000 homes demolished.” He warned that Israel will apply a “Refah model” in the area, similar to actions taken in other border villages.

In the Gaza Strip, Katz declared that Israel is “in the heart of Gaza” and that its presence is not shrinking but expanding, now controlling more than 60 % of the territory. He framed the occupied zones as part of Israel’s national security policy and, controversially, said the destruction “feels good” as it eliminates perceived threats.

The statements signal a possible widening of Israeli military operations across multiple fronts, heightening tensions with Iran, Lebanon and the Palestinian territories.
