Israeli detention system increases abuse of Palestinian women prisoners

Human‑rights groups report a surge in systematic abuse of Palestinian women detained by Israeli military authorities. At least 95 women, including civilians and university students, are held in Israeli prisons, where they face beatings, humiliating strip searches, forced isolation, denial of medical care and overcrowded conditions.

In a separate incident, Hamas condemned the burning of a mosque by Israeli settlers in the village of Jiljilyya north of Ramallah. The group described the act as organized terrorism and called for continued resistance against settler violence and broader occupation policies in the West Bank.
