Israeli Drone and Ground Strikes Intensify in Southern Lebanon

Israeli drone strikes in southern Lebanon have injured civilians, including two people hit by a drone on a pick‑up truck in the Nabatieh district and a motorcyclist killed near Kfar Rumman. The assaults continued despite a U.S.‑brokered framework agreement that calls for Hezbollah’s disarmament and a phased Israeli withdrawal, a deal rejected by Hezbollah and lacking a timetable.

The Israel Defense Forces reported destroying multiple Hezbollah weapons depots, underground tunnels and caches in the security zone, including launchers, missiles and anti‑tank weapons. Operations in the Majdal Zoun area uncovered tunnels of about 200 metres and additional ammunition stores. The IDF said the strikes aimed to eliminate threats to Israeli soldiers and civilians.

Since the conflict escalated in early March, more than 4,300 Lebanese have been killed and over 12,000 injured. The ongoing violence has prompted renewed diplomatic talks in Rome and a planned U.S. visit by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. Both sides maintain a security zone along the border, and the situation remains volatile.
