Israel political polls show divided electorate ahead of elections

Recent polling and political developments indicate a deeply divided Israeli electorate ahead of the upcoming elections. A Channel 13 poll shows Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc leading with 55 seats, compared to 50 for the opposition, though neither side has reached the 61-seat majority required to form a government. Within the blocs, the Likud party and the Yachatz list are currently tied at 20 seats each.

In terms of leadership preference, Gadi Eisenkot maintains a lead in suitability for Prime Minister with 44% support compared to Netanyahu’s 40%. Public sentiment regarding security remains high, with 63% of respondents believing an event similar to the October 7 attacks could recur.

Political candidates recently participated in a town hall in Jerusalem to discuss key issues including Gaza, military conscription, and national security. While parties hold sharp disagreements over responsibility for past security failures, the discussions have focused on the future composition of the Knesset and the strategic direction of the country.
