Israeli Explosions Strike Multiple Villages in Southern Lebanon
Intense Israeli shelling hit numerous towns across southern Lebanon on Friday, including Manasouri, Majdal Zoun, Yehmar al‑Shuqayf, Kafartabnit and others. The attacks broke the cease‑fire agreement, damaging homes, shattering windows and spreading the smell of gunpowder. Israeli military officials said the army had taken control of several areas and warned it could expand operations if needed. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, reported possible war‑crime violations, while the Lebanese army said the strikes impede displacement‑clearance efforts and prevent residents from returning to their villages. Since the conflict resumed in March 2026, Lebanese health officials have recorded over 4,300 deaths and more than 12,000 injuries.
