Israeli forces accused of systematic sexual violence against Palestinians
On 1 July 2026 two non‑governmental organisations published a 200‑page report documenting repeated sexual abuse of Palestinian men, women and children by Israeli security forces in prisons, at checkpoints and during home raids. The report cites video evidence from Israel Channel 12 that appears to show a guard forcibly stripping a Palestinian detainee at Sde Teiman prison and includes testimonies such as that of Amal Ajlouni, a mother of four, who said: “I can’t forget what happened.” She described being ordered to undress in front of her children, threatened with a dog and forced to comply.
The NGOs argue the abuse is part of a broader colonial policy, noting similar accounts span decades and referencing historic cases. Human‑rights group B’Tselem recorded Ajlouni’s testimony on 11 July 2023, describing lasting trauma for her family. The findings have been circulated to UN bodies for further investigation.
