Israel expands Gaza ‘yellow line’ amid ongoing airstrikes

The Israeli military has continued widening the so‑called “yellow line” in the Gaza Strip, laying additional yellow concrete blocks and constructing extensive earthen barriers that stretch for tens of kilometres. Satellite imagery shows more than 30 km of new fortifications built since November 2025, linking to dozens of new security sites inside the enclave. These measures are described by Israel as security precautions but effectively extend a de‑facto boundary that forces the displacement of residents from newly seized zones.

At the same time, Israel has maintained daily violations of the cease‑fire, marking the 287th consecutive day of air raids, artillery bombardments and demolition of homes and civilian infrastructure across Gaza. The attacks have killed and wounded dozens of civilians, destroyed a mosque in the al‑Bureij camp and damaged residential neighbourhoods such as Olive, Zeitoun and Deir al‑Balah. Medical sources report a rising toll of casualties, while displacement continues as new evacuation orders are issued for additional buildings.
