Israeli forces conduct raids and arrests in Hebron, West Bank

On Saturday Israeli army units carried out coordinated raids across the Hebron governorate and other West Bank towns, including Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah and Jenin. The operations resulted in the abduction of at least eleven Palestinians in Hebron and surrounding villages and the arrest of ten Palestinians in Hebron, among them an elderly man and his son who were detained after confronting Israeli settlers.

Soldiers erected numerous military checkpoints, roadblocks and closed main and secondary roads, restricting movement throughout the area. In Bethlehem and near the Jerusalem‑Hebron road, forces entered neighborhoods, searched homes and damaged property. Separate incidents saw a Palestinian laborer shot while being pursued in the Wadi al‑Hummus area east of Bethlehem and another man wounded near Hebron. Settlers, under soldier protection, released livestock near homes, prompting further complaints from residents.

The raids and arrests underscore the ongoing tension and security measures in the occupied West Bank, with Palestinian sources reporting widespread disruption to daily life and heightened confrontations between Israeli forces, settlers and local residents.
