West Bank: Israeli forces conduct widespread raids and mass arrests
Israeli forces conducted widespread military raids and arrest campaigns across the West Bank on Tuesday and Wednesday. The operations spanned multiple governorates, including Bethlehem, Nablus, Qalqilya, Tulkarm, Hebron, and Jenin.
According to the Palestinian Prisoner Club, at least 30 Palestinians were detained during the overnight crackdown. Among those arrested was journalist Abdul Rahman Hassan, whose home was stormed in Bethlehem. The Club noted that the number of Palestinian detainees has surpassed 25,000 since the current conflict began.
The raids involved house searches, property damage, and confrontations with residents. In several locations, such as Madama and Tuqu’, clashes erupted as security forces used tear gas and stun grenades. Multiple Palestinians were reported wounded by live ammunition, including a man critically injured in the Al-Am’ari refugee camp and another shot in the abdomen near a Qalandia roadblock.
In addition to the arrests, local reports indicated increased activity by Israeli settlers, including provocative actions near Bethlehem and laser-directed harassment in Beit Furik. Military movements also included the closure of entrances in Salfit and land seizure orders in the northern Jordan Valley.
