Israeli Forces Launch Wide‑Scale Raids and Arrests Across the West Bank

In early July 2026 Israeli military and police units expanded operations throughout the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Troops entered towns and villages including Qalandia, Hebron, Nablus, Jenin, Ramallah, Salfit, Qalqilia, Bir Eila, and the Shu’fat refugee camp, breaking into homes, refugee shelters and mosques. The raids were accompanied by tear‑gas and stun‑grenade deployments, live‑fire incidents, and the shooting of a young man near the separation wall north of Jerusalem. The operations resulted in mass arrests. Reports cite 11 Palestinians detained on 7 July, 10 more on 8 July, and earlier in the month 14 individuals arrested in Nablus‑area raids. Palestinian monitoring groups say Israeli forces carried out 1,140 house raids and 1,303 “dahm” (search) actions during June, leading to 676 arrests, including 109 women and 212 children.

Separate reporting on June 2026 documented 26 Israeli incursions into the Al‑Aqsa Mosque complex and 84 interruptions of calls to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, alongside the presence of more than 4,200 Israeli settlers inside Al‑Aqsa. Two West‑Bank mosques in Jaljulia and Mazari al‑Nubani were reported burned, and Israeli authorities imposed new restrictions on Palestinian worshippers.

Human‑rights organisations have condemned the widespread raids, the use of force against civilians, and the curtailing of religious access, warning that the escalation threatens any progress toward a negotiated settlement.
