Israeli forces demolish homes in West Bank amid expansion
Israeli military units carried out demolition orders on July 27, 2026, destroying eight homes and an agricultural facility across the West Bank. In Jerusalem's Silwan neighborhood, a house belonging to Mahmoud Mohammad Atiya Quidair was razed for alleged lack of a building permit. In the nearby town of Jabal Al‑Mukar, the al‑Rimawi family was compelled to demolish three homes themselves under the same pretext. In the Ramallah‑area town of Na'lin, three houses owned by families including Wasim Mahmoud Nafi and others were torn down, displacing households of five to ten members each. At the Araba station near Jenin, a three‑storey home of Jihad Moussa was also demolished after a blockade and heavy military presence. The actions are part of a broader pattern of house demolitions, land clearing and restrictions aimed at expanding Israeli control in strategic West Bank locations.
