Israeli forces demolish homes in West Bank village of Khirbet al-Tabban

Israeli forces conducted an unannounced demolition in Khirbet al-Tabban, a small village located in the Masafer Yatta region of the southern West Bank. The operation resulted in the destruction of all 12 homes in the village, along with most community structures, water tanks, and essential sanitation facilities.

The demolitions have left approximately 70 people homeless. Residents are currently seeking makeshift shelter in the open to escape the heat. Nidal Younis, head of the Masafer Yatta Council, described the event as “wiping the village off the face of the earth,” though he noted that villagers intend to remain on the land despite the destruction.

Immediate humanitarian needs for the displaced population include shelter, drinking water, and sanitation. Local leaders have expressed concern that temporary tents will not provide adequate protection against upcoming seasonal winds and cold temperatures, particularly for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and the sick.
