Israeli forces intensify raids and tree‑removal orders across West Bank

Israeli security forces carried out a widespread series of raids in the West Bank on Saturday, entering dozens of towns and villages in the areas of Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, Hebron, Bethlehem, Jericho, Tulkarm, and Jerusalem. The operations involved house searches, the use of live ammunition, tear‑gas and sound grenades, and resulted in the arrest of at least dozens of Palestinians, including men, youths and relatives of prisoners.

At the same time, Israeli military orders were issued to clear olive‑tree vegetation from about 69 dunams of land in the Nablus governorate, affecting the villages of Salem, Burin and Madma. The orders, numbered 79/26, 80/26 and 83/26, call for the removal of trees that had already been cut, limiting the window for Palestinian objections and effectively legalising the prior destruction.

Together, the raids and the tree‑removal directives represent a sharp escalation of security and settlement‑related measures across the occupied territories.
