Israeli forces launch large‑scale operation in West Bank after settler‑Palestinian clashes
Violent clashes between Israeli settlers and Palestinians on the outskirts of Nablus on Friday left four Palestinians and two Israeli soldiers dead, including 27‑year‑old soldier Yuval Ezra. In response, the Israeli army imposed a curfew around Nablus and began a large‑scale operation of raids and arrests across West Bank cities such as Nablus, Ramallah, Hebron and Jerusalem, detaining roughly 120 people. The curfew disrupted emergency medical services, forcing two women to give birth in ambulances; one infant died while the vehicle was halted at a checkpoint.
Within the same surge of settler aggression, settlers set fire to two mosques – one in Kur near Tulkarem and another in Qusra south of Nablus – with racist slogans discovered in the Kur mosque. The Gulf Cooperation Council condemned the arson as a crime and called on Israel to restrain its settlers. Israeli forces also detained the father of two of the slain youths, Ibrahim and Jawad Ramadan, in the village of Tal.
