Israeli forces strike Hezbollah stronghold in Lebanon and clash with suspects near Kalandiya
Israel’s 401st brigade, operating under the 91st division, completed a large‑scale operation in the village of Haddatha deep in southern Lebanon. The unit reported killing more than 20 armed Hezbollah fighters, destroying over 90 terror‑related infrastructures such as observation posts and command centres, and seizing more than 150 advanced weapons, including RPGs, anti‑tank missiles and heavy machine guns.
Separately, Israeli border police (MAGAV) engaged in a violent confrontation near the Kalandiya gate. Police said a civilian vehicle attempted to enter the security‑only checkpoint, and its occupants attacked the officers and tried to seize their weapons. MAGAV personnel fired into the suspects’ lower bodies, lightly wounding two of them; a few officers also received minor injuries. Medical teams provided first‑aid on site.
