Israeli forces uncover Hezbollah tunnel network in Lebanon's Maghdal Zoon

The Israel Defense Forces’ 91st Division and the 551 combat team carried out an operation about 10 km inside southern Lebanon’s Maghdal Zoon village. During the raid they exposed a large underground tunnel system more than 200 metres long and deeper than 25 metres. Inside were four missile launchers aimed at Israel, twelve underground rooms used for militant housing, bomb‑making, UAVs and weapon storage, and dozens of other terror infrastructure.

More than 20 Hezbollah fighters were killed, including over ten members of the elite “Radwan” unit, and over 50 terror sites such as observation posts and weapons caches were destroyed. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant reiterated that Israel will not withdraw from the security zone in Lebanon, describing it as essential for the defense of the Galilee and IDF forces. The Home Front Command also announced a reduction in alert levels for Israeli communities along the northern front.

The operation showcases a significant blow to Hezbollah’s underground capabilities near the Israeli border.
