Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar alleges Hamas ties to Global Sumud Flotilla
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar told a political terrorism summit in Washington, chaired by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, that he had proof of a link between Hamas and the Global Sumud Flotilla, a coalition of activists that attempts to breach Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza. Sa'ar said documents seized by the Israeli army show Hamas financing, operational participation and ownership of the flotilla’s ships through a Spanish front company.
He warned that the collaboration reflects a growing alliance between radical left‑wing groups in the West and Islamist terror organisations, which he described as a threat to freedom and democracy. Sa'ar urged other democracies to recognise the security risk posed by the flotilla’s activities, which he argues are presented as humanitarian but serve Hamas’s interests.
