Israeli military expands control in Gaza amid deadly strikes

Israeli military operations across the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of four Palestinians over a 24-hour period, including a young girl near the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. Additional strikes were reported in Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood and in the southern city of Khan Younis.

The Israeli military is reportedly expanding its territorial control within the Gaza Strip, moving from the north toward the center and west. This expansion has left many residents unable to return to their homes, as much of the infrastructure in controlled areas remains in ruins. Current estimates suggest nearly two-thirds of Gaza is under Israeli military control or subject to access restrictions.

Concurrently, humanitarian concerns are rising as the World Food Programme (WFP) has cut aid to 500,000 Palestinians due to funding shortages, exacerbating fears of famine alongside existing shipment restrictions.
