West Bank olive trees uprooted amid Israeli military orders
Israeli military orders have been issued to uproot olive trees and remove vegetation across approximately 316 dunams of Palestinian land in the West Bank. According to the Palestinian Commission Against the Wall and Settlements, these orders target areas in Jenin, Nablus, and Jerusalem, often concentrated along main roads.
In the Jenin governorate, specifically near the villages of Ajjah and Zububa, bulldozers have destroyed numerous olive groves. Local officials report that more than 2,950 olive trees have been uprooted across 300 dunams since the beginning of 2026. These operations have occurred just weeks before the scheduled olive harvest season.
The Palestinian Commission warns that these actions serve to prepare land for settlement infrastructure and expand control over territory. The Commission noted that since the start of 2026, 59 such orders have been issued, affecting about 2,480 dunams, and approximately 60,000 dunams have been seized during the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
