Israeli minister warns Israel will eventually go to war with Syria, cites Turkey and Syria as bigger threats than Iran

Israeli Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli told listeners on an army radio program that Israel will "at some point go to war with Syria" and described Turkey and Syria as more troubling developments than Iran. He warned that a pull‑back to the United Nations‑defined Blue Line on the Lebanon‑Israel border would be a failure, stating, "We do not intend to retreat. If necessary we can say no to the United States." Chikli also expressed concern over a new regional axis involving Turkey, Qatar and Pakistan, noting that the revitalisation of Iran’s economy after a recent pact was less worrisome than these emerging partnerships. His comments were made amid ongoing diplomatic friction over the United States‑Iran agreement and broader Middle‑East security dynamics.
