Israeli police and IDF arrest West Bank suspects over Hamas incitement and aid incident
An IDF reconnaissance soldier on leave was arrested after he responded to a shepherd attacked near the Alon Road by Arab rioters from al‑Mughayyir. According to the Honenu legal aid organization, the soldier waited for IDF forces, did not fire his weapon, and was detained while the investigation continues. Honenu criticized the arrest, saying the soldier acted to protect civilians.
Israeli police, in coordination with the IDF, Border Police and the Judea and Samaria District’s Observation and Intelligence Unit, arrested a 39‑year‑old suspect in Jericho for publishing online incitement supporting Hamas. The suspect’s posts praised Hamas and called for attacks against Israel. He was linked to the Muslim Brotherhood in the northern Gaza Strip and transferred to the Ma’aleh Adumim police station for interrogation.
