Israeli polls show Gadi Ayalon leading as Likud declines

Recent Israeli opinion polls indicate a shift in the political landscape ahead of the upcoming elections. According to data from Channel 13 and other reports, Gadi Ayalon’s party is leading with 22 seats, while Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party has fallen to 18 seats.

The opposition bloc currently holds 52 seats, compared to 51 seats for the governing coalition. Despite this narrow lead, the opposition would still fall short of the 61-seat majority required to form a government, even if combined with the United List, which holds 5 seats.

In terms of leadership preference, 48% of respondents identified Ayalon as the most suitable candidate for Prime Minister, compared to 36% for Netanyahu. Regarding the preferred government structure, 31% of participants support a broad unity government, 29% favor a right-wing government, and 25% support a government composed of opposition parties.

Additionally, polling data highlights that approximately 10% of voters remain undecided. This group of undecided voters, which includes a notable proportion of young women, is considered a critical factor that could influence the final election outcome.
