Israeli raids in West Bank and Syria injure civilians, trigger arrests

Israeli forces carried out a series of incursions across the West Bank on 21 July 2026, using tear‑gas and sound bombs in Deheisha camp near Bethlehem and opening fire on a youth in Abu Dis. The operations spanned Bethlehem, Beit Sahour, Jenin, Nablus, Ramallah, Jericho, Qalqilya, Salfit and other towns, resulting in dozens of injured civilians, the demolition of a house in Ram, and the seizure of over five dunams of land near Jaba for a new settler road. At least 16 Palestinians were arrested, including residents of Madama and Rafat, while settler violence intensified, with attacks on agricultural lands, a water well in Yatta and the fencing of grazing areas in the northern hills.

In the Syrian governorate of Daraa, Israeli troops entered the Yarmouk basin and entered the village of Jammala, confronting residents who had blocked a road. Six armored vehicles set up a checkpoint and opened fire, wounding a child and a young man in the foot. The incursion followed a previous entry of two Israeli vehicles into the nearby Wadi Al‑Raqad area. Syrian officials condemned the action as a violation of the 1974 cease‑fire agreement and called for the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Syrian territory.
