West Bank attacks injure six Palestinians, including two medics
Israeli forces and settlers carried out a series of attacks on Friday across the occupied West Bank governorates of Nablus and Bethlehem, injuring six Palestinians, two of them paramedics.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that a man was beaten by Israeli forces in Beit Furik, east of Nablus, and was subsequently arrested. Settlers also vandalised a Palestinian‑owned vehicle in the same town. In Bethlehem’s Abu Njeim area, three Palestinians were wounded after settlers attacked vehicles. An ambulance crew responding to injuries in the nearby Khalayel al‑Louz area was pelted with stones, injuring two paramedics and damaging the vehicle.
Palestinian monitors say more than 11,000 attacks have been recorded in the West Bank since January. Since the war in Gaza began in October 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have killed at least 1,182 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, injured about 13,000 and arrested nearly 25,000. The UN Human Rights Office has warned that settlers and Israeli forces frequently attack families, burn mosques and destroy property, and that movement restrictions have become tighter than ever.
