Israeli settlers burn homes and assault children in West Bank's Masafer Yatta
Dozens of armed Israeli settlers attacked the Palestinian village of Tuba in the Masafer Yatta area of the southern West Bank on Thursday night. They set fire to at least two houses, completely destroying one, and sprayed racist graffiti. An 8‑year‑old girl, the daughter of Fir Radwan Abo Jundiya, and her mother were assaulted, and several other youths were injured.
The Israeli army said its forces moved quickly to the scene after reports of the attack, but the suspects fled before troops arrived and no arrests were made. Sarit Michaeli, director of the Israeli human‑rights NGO B’Tselem, condemned the lack of police action, noting a video that showed settlers returning to the illegal outpost Havat Maon after the assault and highlighting that army surveillance cameras failed to record the incident.
