Israeli settlers establish new West Bank outposts as raids on Palestinians intensify

Over the weekend Israeli settlers set up two new outposts in the occupied West Bank – one near the community of Maazi Jaba northeast of Jerusalem and another in the Tal al‑Asour area east of Ramallah – while expanding an existing outpost on Mount Ebal near Nablus. Settlers, often accompanied by Israeli soldiers, carried out a wave of attacks on Palestinian residents, including the storming of homes in the villages of Arab al‑Kaabneh near Jericho, the beating of a family in Huwara, and the seizure of livestock from Bedouin communities in the Jordan Valley.

Simultaneously, Israeli military and paramilitary forces conducted overnight raids across several governorates, abducting Palestinians in Qalqilya and Deir al‑Ghusun, storming villages around Ramallah and Nablus, and detaining U.S. Representative Ro Khanna during a visit to the village of Khirbet Zanuta. The combined settlement expansion, settler‑led violence, and security operations heightened tensions and disrupted access to medical aid for injured Palestinians.
