Israeli settlers establish outpost near Gaza border

A group of far-right Israeli settlers has established an encampment known as Halutzei Aza, or “the Pioneers of Gaza,” in southern Israel near the Gaza border. Located between the kibbutzim of Kfar Aza and Nahal Oz, the site consists of tents, caravans, and temporary structures.

Members of the Nachala settler organization, led by Daniella Weiss, are advocating for the re-establishment of Israeli settlements within the Gaza Strip. Activists at the site, including Tchiya Chaim, assert that the territory belongs to Israel and intend to remain at the outpost until the government facilitates their move into Gaza.

The movement comes amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, which has resulted in significant destruction and high casualties in the Gaza Strip.
