Israeli soldiers set fire to Palestinian home in Nablus, causing extensive damage

Israeli forces entered the Tel village on the outskirts of Nablus in the West Bank and deliberately set fire to a house occupied by a Palestinian family. The blaze quickly engulfed the building, resulting in severe structural damage but no reported deaths or injuries. Local Palestinian Civil Defence reports said Nablus municipal fire crews were delayed in reaching the site because Israeli troops restricted their access, allowing the fire to spread before the firefighters could intervene. Once on scene, the crew found the house completely burned, extinguished the flames and took measures to prevent it from reigniting or spreading to nearby structures.

The incident was described by Palestinian officials as part of a broader pattern of settlement‑related violence aimed at forcing residents to flee. They noted that roughly 750,000 Israeli settlers live in the West Bank, spread across 141 illegal settlements and 224 outposts. Since October 2023, Israeli military operations in the area have resulted in 1,181 Palestinian deaths, about 13,000 injuries and 24,000 detentions.
