Israeli drone strike hits civilian area in Gaza, killing one and wounding several
An Israeli reconnaissance drone attacked a group of civilians east of Gaza City, near the Asqola roundabout in the Zaitun district. The strike killed one person and injured several others, who were taken to Al Shifa Hospital, according to medical sources.
The Gaza Ministry of Health said its latest 48‑hour figures show 16 deaths and 16 injuries, not yet counting the new fatality. Since the cease‑fire began on 11 October, the ministry records 1,066 dead and 3,445 injured in Gaza; since the war started on 7 October 2023, total casualties stand at 73,090 dead and 173,553 injured.
Earlier reports from the same period described another Israeli drone strike in the southern Gaza town of Jan Yunis that left two Palestinians dead and seven, including children, wounded. These incidents illustrate the ongoing civilian toll of Israeli aerial operations in the Gaza Strip.
