Israeli UN Ambassador Danny Danon Shouts at UN Child‑Rights Representative Vanessa Frazier

During a United Nations meeting marking the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon confronted UN Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict Vanessa Frazier. After Frazier presented a report that placed Israel’s military and security forces on a UN sexual‑violence blacklist, Danon shouted, “No, you be quiet, because I am speaking now,” accusing the UN of bias and threatening to freeze relations with the Secretary‑General’s office. He also called for the resignation of the UN’s Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict and the Under‑Secretary‑General.

Maltese Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg subsequently expressed public support for Frazier, condemning personal attacks in diplomatic discourse and urging respect for her work at the UN.
