Israeli forces detain over 200 Palestinians in West Bank raids

Israeli security forces carried out a series of raids across the occupied West Bank, detaining more than 200 Palestinians in the Tel area near Nablus over the course of a week. The operation was described by the Israeli army as a crackdown on "terror" activity, with soldiers also seizing cash and equipment.

Earlier overnight raids in multiple governorates resulted in the detention of seven Palestinians, including two children, and the arrest of teenagers in Tubas, Nablus and Bethlehem. Israeli military jeeps roamed Ramallah, using tear‑gas inside a supermarket, while settlers assaulted a Palestinian couple on farmland in the al‑Zarqa area of Beitillu and erected a twelfth illegal outpost in the past week.

In parallel, Jewish extremist groups carried out more than 23 attacks in the West Bank within 24 hours, setting fire to property, vandalising cemeteries and injuring a 10‑year‑old boy in the village of Ebu Felah. Settlers also cut a water line serving the Han el‑Ahmer area of East Jerusalem and expanded illegal settlement outposts. Since the start of the Gaza conflict in October 2023, the West Bank and East Jerusalem have seen over 1,182 Palestinian deaths and roughly 13,000 injuries.
