Israel’s Decades‑Long Plan Behind Gaza Conflict Unveiled

Recent analysis by journalist Jonathan Cook argues that Israel’s current war in Gaza is part of a long‑standing strategy to expel Palestinians, not a new development.

Cook cites testimonies from four Israeli soldiers who served in Gaza after the 1967 Six‑Day War, recorded in Avraham Shapira’s book *The Seventh Day*. The soldiers describe orders to kill civilians, create “concentration camps” and conduct purges, indicating a policy of terror and ethnic cleansing that predates the October 2023 war.

The analysis says the scale and duration of today’s assault are larger, aided by modern U.S.‑supplied munitions, allowing Israel to “wipe Gaza off the map.” It links the current destruction—mass demolition of homes, hospitals and schools, and a blockade that starves the population—to a pattern dating back to the 1947‑48 Zionist campaign and the 1967 expulsions.

Cook warns that historic testimonies show the present genocide is a continuation of decades‑old military conduct rather than a spontaneous response to Hamas.
